In the first episode of Commander Land, the narrative begins in the year 184 of the Kaldor Era—an era whose official calendar is based on Kaldorian years. This period began after Zarog Khan's grandfather (Kaldor the Crimson) conquered the kingdom, marking the start of the Kaldor Age and dividing history into pre- and post-Kaldor.

The series' setting is an amazing blend of myth and fantasy with traces of emerging technology; a land rooted in antiquity but standing on the brink of a new leap. The presence of scientists from the planet Topinor brought sparks of knowledge and industry to this world, although a shadow of low technology still spreads over it.

However, all scientific achievements and advanced tools are solely in the possession of Zarog Khan; a ruler who keeps the secret of technology like a hidden treasure in his fist, with no one but him having access to it. Thus, Commander Land, on the border between legend and the future, is entangled in a destiny whose key is held only by Zarog Khan.
